About The Body is owned and operated by Karen M. Watts, a Licensed Massage (SC# 2815) and Skin Care Therapist (SC # 60588). Karen is married to Layton Watts and they have twin daughters. Karen is dedicated to her clients and that is demonstrated through her education, training and experience achieved in over 9 years as a Licensed and Certified Massage and 4 years as a Skin Care Therapist. She has earned many certification hours in varying massage techniques; including Deep Tissue, Hot Stone Therapy, Prenatal/Postnatal, Thai Massage and Injury Therapies. She attends classes regularly through Dermalogica and the International Dermal Institute. Karen specializes in Deep Tissue, Hot Stone Massage, Bikini/Brazilian Waxing (male and female), Spray Tanning, Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peels and Reflexology. Karen is a member of the ASCP and AMBP.
Kim LaVina has been a Certified and Licensed Esthetician since 2007. Kim is
married to Deputy Sheriff Kirk LaVina and they have twin sons. Kim
studied Esthetics at Esthetics International in Columbia, SC. She is certified and Licensed (SC# 62861) for Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peels, lymphatic drainage, Spray Tanning and body waxing. Kim is very excited about the opportunity to work with you to improve your skins health and appearance. Kim is a member of the AMBP and the ASCP.
Ann Holloman is a graduate of The South Carolina Massage and Esthetic Institute, sc license #6109. A long time believer in the healing benefits of massage therapy, Ann specializes in Deep Tissue, Strechting, Hot Stone Massage and she is member of the Assoiciated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. Her husband and 5 children have been long time residents of Bishopville.
Leah Martin is a Sumter native who graduated from Southeastern School of Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy is Columbia in 2008. She is looking forward to helping you to relax or ease your pain. Leah practices Hot Stone, Swedish, and Pre-Natal Massage. She is a certified and Licensed Massage Therapist (SC# 6071) and is a member of the AMTA.
Naomi Gwin, a state and nationally licensed (SC# 5234) and certified massage therapist, began practicing 5 years ago in New York City before moving to Sumter and joining About The Body. Committed to her work and clients she is well versed in techniques such as Swedish, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Pre-Natal, Reflexology and Hot Stone Massage. Naomi is passionate about her work and her love of it is evident to the people she has the good fortune to work with.
(Tamara) Chris Hale is a graduate of the Southeastern School of Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy in Columbia in 2009 (SC Lic #6783). She was a long term resident of Irmo, SC and recently moved to Sumter . Her goal is to share with her clients the physical and emotional benefits of massage. Chris specializes in deep tissue massages, reflexology and sweet feet therapies. She has a son and daughter and is an avid bowler.
Lyz Morris is our Office Manager and Receptionist. She is married to Charles Morris and lives here in Sumter, SC. From start to finish Lyz will help you schedule your appointments, greet you and check you out. She is looking forward to meeting you and helping in whatever way to make your visit with About The Body a pleasant one.

About The Body welcomes walk-ins and can usually accomodate same day appointments. Sundays (massages only) and Mondays our therapists are available but it is best to book appointments for these days advance or on-line.
